No preparation is required.
There is no specific requirement of clothing for undergoing this scan. However, avoid wearing high neck clothing and neck jewellery.
You will be asked to lie down on the scan couch(bed) or sit down on a chair comfortably. Our well qualified experienced Consultant Radiologist will put water-based gel on your neck. Thereafter, they examine the thyroid and surrounding areas by placing the probe (camera) over them.
The duration of the scan is usually 10 – 15 minutes and sometimes can take up to 20 minutes for one side depends on the visibility of organs and complexity of scan.
