A transrectal prostate ultrasound uses a small probe (camera) that is inserted into the rectum for having a closer look at the prostate for medical imaging to check the prostate inside your lower abdominal cavity. This includes bladder with the measurement of bladder volume before and after emptying, prostate, and seminal vesicles.

Prostate ultrasound is a non-invasive (except transrectal scan for the prostate in which a small probe (camera) is inserted into the rectum for having a closer look at the prostate) medical imaging to check the prostate inside your lower abdominal cavity. This includes bladder with the measurement of bladder volume before and after emptying, prostate, and seminal vesicles.

The prostate is an organ located beneath the urinary bladder. It is roughly the same size and shape as a walnut and increases in size as one ages. The prostate is located around the urinary bladder, which is a tube that transports urine from the bladder to the urinary bladder. The primary purpose of the prostate is to facilitate the production of seminal fluid, the liquid that carries sperm.

The most common issues of the prostate gland in a man can be enlarged prostate (BPH), inflammation in the prostate (prostatitis) and prostate cancer.
