Elite Community Ultrasound (ECU) is delighted to offer this comprehensive scan for women who are 16years or above and are undergoing or planning to go for fertility treatment.

Pelvic ultrasound is a non-invasive medical imaging to check the organs and structures inside your pelvic cavity. This includes detailed assessment uterus (womb) including cervix, ovaries, adnexa, and pouch of Douglas (POD)/cul-de-sac.

A detailed specific and targeted assessment of endometrium (womb lining) would be carried out by our specialist/consultant sonographer by performing two methods: transabdominal (through the tummy) and transvaginal/internal (through the vagina).

This scan is generally performed in early days (between 3^rd and 5^th day) of menstrual cycle (periods) for proper assessment of reproductive organs, especially endometrial (womb) lining and ovaries.

Pelvic ultrasound can be used to test for a variety of conditions such as:

Cancer or other serious illnesses in organs such uterus and ovaries.
Fibroids (Benign Tumour) in the uterus (womb), ovarian and/or adnexal cysts, fluid.
Suspected polyps in endometrial cavity and cervical canal.
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
Anomalies in uterus.
Suspected polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Endometriosis

Bent over backwards to make sure we had an appointment time that worked for us, even came in early so that we could have the scan on the day we wanted.
