A breast scan is a non-invasive, painless, and radiation-free imaging method used to examine the internal structures of the breast. It can assist you or your healthcare provider in identifying potential causes of breast issues. For instance, it helps determine whether breast lumps are cystic (fluid-filled) or solid (containing solid components) and can detect other abnormalities found during physical exams or imaging like mammograms. However, this scan is not an alternative of annual mammogram screening.
